Information
Dandos Campground is a large and popular site on a bend of the Gellibrand River with a large grassy area for camping. It offers a variety of recreational activities, including walking and four-wheel driving and visitors can enjoy access to the river year-round. Dogs are permitted in this state run forest.
This spacious and remote campground has a separate day visitor and camping area, with about 20 campsites available. It is a great base for exploring the lush rainforest of the Otway region, and if you visit in the warmer months, be sure to take a dip in the river or check out the secluded water hole to the north-west of the site.
The site is unpowered. However, you’ll find basic facilities, including toilets, picnic tables and firepits with barbeque plates.
There’s plenty of shade and a large open grassy area which makes it a great spot for kids. Please supervise children when near the water.
