Iridescent red and green flowers make Mangles Kangaroo Paw one of Australia's most recognised wildflowers. It is a rhizotomous perennial with long, grey-green linear leaves up to 60 cm long.
Largish flower stems in a light red. Inside of flower a creamy colour. Growing roadside in gravelly soil.
Spindly, low growing plant to 50cm. Flower bright red and green but not as intense as Mangles Kangaroo Paw. Growing in sandy gravel roadside.
Velvety crimson flower heads are a striking sight in the bush or along roadsides. Tufted plant up to 1m tall when flowering. Leaves are strap-like and erect, to about 40cm.
Small tufted perennial with pointed grass-like leaves. About 25cm tall. Common growing in sand among heath.
A perennial herb to one meter high. Although it is not a grass, it has a grass-like appearance, with strap-like, narrow, leathery leaves arising from the base of the plant.
