Pleasant camp in State Forest by the Howqua Rv near the junction with Running Creek. A large, level river flat in open forest of Narrow-leaved Peppermint, Candlebark, Blue Gum, Manna Gum and Stringybark, surrounded by dry foothill forest. Some sites grassed, some worn. Wrens, rosellas, kookaburras magpies and ducks abound.
Access from Howqua Rv Bridge (on C511 9k N of Jamieson), east up the Howqua River Rd (Howquadale Rd) 8k (gravel, increasingly narrow and twisty) over Running Creek bridge, 200m up to ridge and 300m down signposted track on left opposite Steiners Rd
