Small ground orchid, usually one or two flowers on a slender stalk. Common in forested areas on well drained soil.
Tuberous, perennial, herb, to 0.45 m high. Grows in white, grey or yellow sand, clay, laterite, limestone, granite. Flats, sand plains, slopes, ridges, crests of sand dunes, valley floors.
Common Coastal Spider Orchid Grows 250 - 500mm Variably Red Cream, Green Yellow flowers. Found in isolated pockets in the south west.

This orchid has the same characteristics as the Yellow spider orchid except that the petals are red in colour.
A yellow sun orchid
You could easily mistake this common little orchid for grass. A small terrestrial orchid with 10s of tiny flowers crowded along a flowering spike that can grow up tp to 30cm tall.
