Information

This area was established as a juvenile penitentiary young convicts sent to Port Arthur. They were schooled and taught trades such as boatbuilding and stone work. Many of the rougher stones used in the main buildings at Port Arthur were crafted by the children as young as 9.No buildings remain, only some stone footings and walls.The sandstone cliffs are an impressive feature of Point Puer.
